Danube River Basin Evaporation for May 1985 - 1999

Evaporation estimates in the Danube follow seasonal changes in temperature with low levels in the winter months, in April there is a distinct rise in level of evaporation. Levels tend to peak in June and from September lower evaporation estimates are because less water is available for evaporation, see soil moisture maps which show lower levels. In addition from autumn onwards lower temperatures mean less evaporation is taking place.
