Indus River Basin Freshwater for July 1985 - 1999

Discharge is highest in May to September which is the wet season at the head waters of the river. Both rainfall and snowmelt contribute to the volume of water carried in the river. During the rest of the year run off is low as there is minimal input from rainfall. However in recent years flow in the river has been changed by the construction of dams and reservoirs.
